October is National Principals' Month
School principals are dedicated and empathetic leaders who create an environment that fosters learning, growth, and development. They constantly strive to improve the school experience for their students and put their needs first. They serve as a source of inspiration, motivation, and encouragement for the school community, preparing students for the challenges of the real world. Without school principals, the education system would not be as excellent as it is today. We should appreciate and thank them for their commitment to improving our schools.
We are blessed to have Ms. Etheridge and Ms. Cole lead our schools. Their contributions do not go unnoticed!

At Curriculum Night, you have an opportunity to meet with each of your child’s teacher to learn what goes on in the classroom so you can better support us at home to make sure your child succeeds academically.

- Prom 2024 Junior Class Dinner Fundraiser: Spaghetti Dinner $10 (Salad & Drink) 5:00pm – 8:30pm in Cafeteria
5:30pm – 6:30pm: Pre-K through Grade 04 and Resource Classes (Art, P.E. & Media Center)
6:30pm – 7:30pm: Grades 05-08
7:00pm – 8:00pm: Grades 09-12 (Core and CTE Classes)
Transportation Services by Hyde County Transit: If you need a ride to/from school and home on Curriculum Night, please contact Transit to schedule it at 252-926-1637 no later than noon on Tuesday, August 29th.

Here is the link to the 2023-2024 school year Student/Parent Handbook for our school. Please take the time to read through it with your child as it establishes our procedures and guidelines to have a smooth school year.
You might notice a few sections highlighted in yellow. That is just info we still need to plug in so if you need it, check back on the website for those updates.
However, should there be content changes on the handbook this year, we will make sure we inform you to keep you updated.

Parents and students are invited to the Back to School Movie Night showing of "Sandlot" this Thursday, August 3rd at 6:00pm in the gym. You are encouraged to bring a pillow and blanket. Admission is free but concessions will be open. Anyone coming that night will also be receiving back to school paperwork to get you started on needed forms ahead of Open House.
Do you want to join our school family by driving our precious cargo to/from school and on athletic/field trips? Here are different opportunities to get you started with your bus driving certification and they are all free!
