The North Carolina General Assembly passed a law stating that face covering procedures needed to be included under School Board Policy. Therefore, the Hyde County Schools Board of Education passed an updated face coverings policy at their most recent meeting on Tuesday, September 7th. This policy will officially go into effect on Tuesday, September 14th.
The mask procedures listed in this policy are essentially they same way we have been operating under since the beginning of this school year. Face coverings are required at all times on our campuses and/or events (but now including sporting events). Mask breaks will still be implemented during our school day with proper distancing.
Our goal is to provide our students with in-person instruction in the safest environment possible this year, and this updated policy affords us the best opportunity to do so.
