We are proud to share that one of our outstanding district staff members, Ms. Callie Luker, has been nominated as a 2026 Science of Reading Star Award recipient through Amplify!
These prestigious awards honor superstar educators, districts, and schools that have driven demonstrable and lasting change through the Science of Reading. This nomination is a powerful reflection of the incredible work happening across Hyde County Schools.
In her own words:
“I am so excited and honored to be nominated for the Amplify SOR Star Award!
This nomination represents so much more than me. It reflects the growth, dedication, and deep knowledge our teachers have built over the past three years around the Science of Reading, and the shared belief that when students are given the right instruction, we can teach every child to read.
Teaching reading is deeply personal to me. Supporting teachers and administrators, partnering with families, and advocating for what works is not only my passion, but it’s something I am genuinely grateful to get to do every day.
This work matters. Our kids matter. And I’m proud to be part of a community that believes in doing what’s right for all readers.”
