This month, we are proud to recognize Board Vice Chair Rachael Chestnut for her outstanding service and dedication to Hyde County Schools.
Rachael has been a tremendous addition to the Board of Education and is truly, unequivocally committed to ensuring a smooth and effective school system. She consistently dives deep into the importance of following board policy and actively encourages thoughtful updates and revisions to ensure our policies continue to serve our students, staff, and community well.
Although she represents Ocracoke Island, Rachael is deeply engaged in all Hyde County Schools. She makes it a priority to stay informed and involved with what’s happening across the mainland campus and at Hyde Academy, always striving to fully understand the needs and challenges of our entire district.
We are grateful for her leadership, her attention to detail, and her commitment to doing what’s best for our schools. We look forward to her continued contributions and impact in the years ahead.
