Hyde County Schools is thrilled to announce the 2025-2026 District Teacher of the Year. This honor goes to Ms. Cara Equils, Career and Technical Education Teacher at Mattamuskeet School! Today, the entire school got together to surprise her with this announcement, and it was a very emotional moment for her!
We congratulate her on this accomplishment, and we cannot wait to see her represent our school system as North Carolina selects the Regional and then State Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Equils will officially be honored by the Board of Education in the fall this year!
