Hyde County Schools Faculty in Poland!
We currently have a couple of teachers all the way in Poland. They left on June 17th and will be back on June 27th. Mr. Sean Sands (Mattamuskeet School) and Gwen Austin (Ocracoke School) along with 28 other teachers from North Carolina were sponsored to go to Poland by the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust.
They are doing a deep dive on the Holocaust and visiting many pertinent sites. They are going through a very busy itinerary to be able to squeeze it all in 10 days. We are excited to hear what they have learned and experienced. No doubt this will also mean an outstanding teaching/learning opportunity for our students and staff next school year.
