Using Masks at School

Hello HCS students and families,

We are busy preparing for some of our students to return to classrooms inside of our school buildings. Please be aware that all public school students in the state of North Carolina are required to wear face masks at all times during the school day, including while riding the bus.

Mask 'breaks' have been scheduled during the school day and students will be notified by their teacher when it's permissible to remove their masks.

Please watch this video from the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services, which was filmed at Buncombe County Schools (which is why their logo appears in the corner of some of the frames) but applies to every school in the state of North Carolina. This video covers the required and proper use, wearing, removal, and cleaning of cloth face coverings.
